  • “Stone fruit”

Encased in some sweet oval, a
    diamond-hard period, signifying ending.

    What is an outside but
    another inside?

The cycles start with the flowers or
with the seeds in bloom or in acid.

I am inclined to endure each return as
a party, reunion in the red mud,

embodied by the company of hungry friends, kissing friends,
blue in the eyes with heavy bounty.

Pounds between us now and the stone center, encased in some sweet oval,

    a diamond-hard period, signifying ending.
